FAQs

Who Is CityCommit?
CITYCommit is a team of people committed to the vision of “creating places to belong” with intentional and successful tools and training regarding the art of deep connection.
What is “Belonging”?
“We cannot structure belonging. It’s not a mechanical or a rigid “to do” list but there are realities. There must be someone who creates and leads a group toward affinity and security. The authenticity of the leader will determine the impact of a group’s dynamic in every sector, in every family and in every institution. The tension of belonging and ‘knowing when you got it,’ begins with leadership and laying the foundation.” - Brian Yost, Co-founder, CITYCommit
How Does It Work?
The paradigm is simple and reproducible. It’s not rocket science but there is an “art” and intentional learning process of “belonging.” We provide you training, curriculum and questions if you desire. Just follow the simple questions and form/covenant and submit them. We can answer any further questions you might have as well. After submission, we will send you all of the curriculum for your roundtable to watch or read.
When & Where Does CITYCommit Meet?
The simple answer is “whenever and wherever” you want to meet! It can be at 6 a.m. in a community center, to Tuesday nights in a home to a board room at noon. It can be in New York, London, Melbourne, or San Diego ...it’s up to you.
How Long is a Typical CITYCommit Meeting?
75 minutes at the most. This includes a video/book/curriculum that is no longer than 30 minutes and at least 3 related questions, which we can provide for you.
How Do I Create Belonging?
CityCommit helps to teach, train, and equip you to create “belonging”. Although belonging is relational, we believe there are some simple principles to lead and embrace that are outlined in this guide that are essential for round table leaders.
Does it Cost Anything to Start a CITYCommit Roundtable?
There is no financial cost when starting a City Commit round table. There are few simple prerequisites and ongoing points of accountability that is time related, however.
What type of curriculum do you use?
We primarily use Biblical and Universal Truths as our curriculum but do not have Bible Studies. This allows everyone to be involved if a person so desires. It just has to be no longer than 30 minutes of a video or book discussion and 3 or more questions.
Can You Just Adopt CityCommit’s Principles of “Belonging” Into a Non-CityCommit Group/Cirriculum?
Please do! We just want to help create “belonging” where it’s needed
